To the man that eludes me… Every. time.

I see you.

Yeah, you. I see you!

Right there.

You have a different face – but you are still the same.

Behind that mask you wear.

I see your wounds and scars.

The ones that push your heart too far.

Further into shame, despair and contempt.

Yep. I see you.

I want the REAL you.

Where is the man that can own his pain, while demonstrating self-love, self-control and awareness?

Yes, I see you.

Behind the venom, the abuse and deception.

I know the real you; but if you don’t….

then you’re on your own.

See, you don’t know the blood, sweat and tears it takes to claw your way out of that facade, that hole, that path of self-destruction.

But I do.

I see you – you’d rather take the free ride.

Yes, I see you.

The you that I love, the part of you I crave, the one that shows up from time to time.

I see the one you’re at war with.

The one who wants to say better, feel better, do better.

The one who was broken and beaten over and over and over.

I see you.

I wish your journey could be as mine.

One which leads to community, maturity, humility.

I see you.

A soul that longs to connect to its mind.

Only you can bring him forth, Oh man of God; ASSERTIVE and READY TO PURSUE

Until then, he eludes me and I say, “Adieu”

A poem for all the women who wait and wait with false hope, on bated breath for the man they fell in love with to return. We love, we give, we long for the potential we see – to come into fruition, while our minds, bodies and souls become destroyed.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. -Proverbs 13:12

May our sick hearts become free to cast new dreams for a life of fulfillment and peace.

Love,

Rochelle Sadie
